Thank you to those parents who came along to the AGM – we’ll see what we can do to attract more of you next time and suggestions welcome. As a relatively new parents’ association it would be great to know what you feel works at other schools, too.
Harvey sent in his Chairman’s Report, focusing on what we’d done well during a steep learning curve first year, providing us a good position from which to grow. Thank you, Harvey, for leading us through this first year and we’re glad you’re staying on the committee (we’ll be roping you in for a Golf Day in the Spring).
Rachel, our treasurer, reported that we made a profit of £1852 last year, which is better than we anticipated. We will consider ways to make best use of this at the next meeting.
It was agreed that all fund raising activity will go towards the “Furnishing the Future” project for the new school building.
Roles for the next term were appointed:
- Chairperson – Barbara Saul
- Treasurer – Rachel Bain
- Secretary – vacancy
All existing members of the committee are to remain in situ, with new committee members David Bizzell and Juliet Priest (as school liaison).
Attendees were asked if they had any other ideas for fund raising and Juliet Priest put forward the idea of a BBQ for current Year 6 Students coming in to the school in the September. It was suggested that this be held in July.
Communication was also discussed and agreed that this needed to be more regular with parents, be clear what fundraising is for and how much was raised. It is hoped that communications will improve now that the PA has a teacher as part of the committee to help as liaison.
